CALENDAR: IMPORTANT DATES
- Drop out due date: 10 September.
- Holidays: Monday, 16 September; and Monday, 18 November.
- Christmas holidays: from 20 December to 06 January.
- End of the course: Monday, 16 December (Second midterm exam check)
- Dates of issue of academic records: 08 and 09 January 2020.
- The final grade is the average of two midterm exams:
- 1st midterm exam (Files 7 to 9): 07 and 09 October.
- 2nd midterm exam (Files 10 to 12): 09 and 11 December.
- Assessment of 5 skills:
- Reading (20%)
- Writing (20%)
- Use of English (20%)
- Listening (20%)
- Speaking (20%)
- Minimum passing grade: 8.0 together with 80% of attendance (=54 hours of class; the maximum number of absences permitted is 11 hours of class).
- But 5 consecutive absences cause dismissal.
CLASS RULES
- You must attend the class with your own material, i.e., your Student's Book.
- Punctuality and use of English in class is really important. Try not to speak in Spanish.
- If you are late and there's an activity in progress, you have to wait and take part in the next activity.
- Use your mobile phone, iPhone, iPad, etc. ONLY for class activities. Please avoid instant messaging during our class.
OTHER ASPECTS
- A bilingual dictionary is recommended in class and for homework. (Avoid the use of translators.)
- The use of the Workbook is mainly at home. Be ready for its checking.
